Summer intern Kristin Brady reveals how moms are using their smart phones.
It’s no secret that moms are highly mobile, often juggling multiple tasks and chauffeuring their kids to various appointments. A new study by analytics firm Flurry reveals that moms are also very technologically mobile, using their smart phones and tablets to stay connected via social media and entertain themselves with games.
Flurry’s data shows that games are the most popular apps for moms with an Android or iPhone. Second on the list are social network apps. Moms spend about half their time on an Android or iPhone gaming, whereas they spend only one-fifth of their time on social media apps. On iPads, those numbers shift a bit – the newsstand app, which allows for newspaper and magazine reading, is more popular than any social media apps.
Other findings include:
- Among iPhone, iPad and Android users, moms tend to play more educational games, and download health and fitness apps more often.
- 77% of moms use Apple products.
- Moms are more likely to have their own tablet.
Given how busy moms can be, these findings come as no surprise. But before you rush to create that social media campaign to reach mothers, consider how they like to be engaged. Want to know more about capturing moms’ attention? Give us a call.
